Clothing
Your child will need to bring the following items with them.
Please ensure all articles of clothing (including shoes) are clearly marked with your child’s name, as we cannot accept responsibility for any loss of clothing. Every effort will be made to protect your child’s clothing by use of aprons.
Should we need to provide nappies a charge of £1.00 per session will be made.
Food
Meals are freshly prepared on a daily basis, with regard to current legislation on
food handling.
We have our own green house, allotment and orchard on site which provides fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables for many of the meals.
Young children need nourishing food and plenty of water to help them grow into healthy adults. The menus have been carefully planned to provide a well balanced diet at meal and snack times
Babies being weaned will not be given new foods until they have been tried several times at home first.
Special dietary requirements are catered for to comply with parent’s wishes and children’s medical conditions.
NUTS are not to be brought into the nursery nor are they used in meals due to some children having severe nut allergies.
Breakfast can be arranged for a full time or morning session at a cost of £1.50 per day.
Sleeping
The practitioners follow the children’s individual sleeping routines while respecting the parent’s wishes. Babies who sleep after lunch are wrapped up warmly, placed in pushchairs and sleep outdoors in the fresh air. Cots are available in the room for those babies who are not well or who sleep mid morning/afternoon.
We provide beds, sheets and blankets for the toddlers and older children to sleep. Beds are also supplied for children who want to rest and listen to some relaxing music.
If your child sleeps with a comforter or special blanket/toy, you are welcome to bring them, however, please discourage large items.
